Everything and more for ¥100

Japan is famous for adopting slices of familiar culture, then going on to transform them into sleek, tantalising samples of modern perfection. The one-stop shop trend for rock bottom priced goods is no different. ¥100 shops exist all over Japan, ダイソー being no doubt the most widely known chain. Some stores span multiple floors, and goods range from kitchen utensils and hair accessories to sketch-pads, clothing and all sorts of tasty snacks. In other words, welcome to the birth-place of materialism. Though cheap and cheerful, there are many little treasures to be found, as long as you don't get lost in the vast ocean of plastic.
